The 2016 Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) South Asian Film Festival will be held during this week in Dallas. The Film Festival will showcase 13 awards- winning documentaries, shorts and feature films.

A Dallas and New York City based events management company, Jingo Media, is organizing the event. The festival is scheduled to be happened  from February 19 to 21, 2016  at Perot Museum in Downtown Dallas and  Angelika Film Center in Plano.

The director of the festival, Jitin Hingorani, said that, there are more than 25 sponsors and partners are supporting the film festival. The goal of the festival to provide a better understanding of the South Asian Culture to the viewers. The festival aims to promote voices and perspectives of the South Asian community through organizing, serving and advocating South Asian culture in Dallas.

The movies will be exposed from Friday through Sunday at the Perot Museum in Dallas and Angelika Film Center in Plano.

The festival also consists, post-screening question-and-answer sessions, appearances by filmmakers and actors and networking receptions.

‘Miss India America’ will be the opening film and ‘Umrika’ will be the centerpiece film in the festival. The festival will show documentaries, Help Us Find Suni Tripathi, The Backward Class, Amma Y Appa,  Blue Like Me and Spaces Between. Feature films, Saankal (Shackle) and  Dhanak, I Say, Bhallaji, Super Girl and  Vanvaas.
