Indian Railways Cancels 400 Trains

Indian Railways has decided to cancel close to 400 trains due to the operational services, ongoing coronavirus pandemic and the foggy weather. All the canceled trains are operated between the states of New Delhi, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, West Bengal, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Assam. Some of the trains which started on Thursday are running late due to the fog. Howrah-New Delhi Express, Puri- New Delhi Express and Mumbai- New Delhi Express, Gorakhpur- New Delhi Express and Kanpur- New Delhi Express are the trains delayed.

Several train schedules will be impacted between January 20th and 25th. A road overbridge is being constructed between Dhanbad and Horwah which is causing a three-hour block. 437 services are canceled on Thursday. The authorities of Indian Railways urged the passengers to check the details of the train schedules on NTES or https://enquiry.indianrail.gov.in/mntes. If the passenger booked tickets through the IRCTC portal, the passenger need not cancel the tickets if the train gets canceled. The refunded amount will be credited in 3-7 days. If the passenger booked tickets through the PRS Counter, the passenger will have to fill the cancelation form at the counter for a refund. The authorities asked the passengers to visit the IRCTC portal to check the list of the canceled trains.
