India is standing first in the medal tally table with a total of 94 medals with 45 gold, 33 silver, 16 bronze.

On the first day of athletics competition, i.e., on Tuesday, India has won 10 medals in total which included 4 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze.

Archana Suseendran clinchied the women's 200m race and won her second gold. Compatriot A Chandra Lekha was third.

Suresh Kumar won the men's 10,000m race where as, Lokesh Sathyanathan and Swamynathan produced an Indian 1-2 in men's long jump by clearing impressive distances. Another 1-2 result for the Indians came in the men's discus throw through Kirpal Singh and Gagandeep Singhin 7 minsaround 6-7 mins.Navjeet Kaur Dhillon fetched India's fifth gold of the day in women's discus throw while Survi Biswa was good enough to win a silver in a mediocre field.

In women's long jump, Sandra Babu won a bronze to add to India's medal tally. In taekwondo also, India ruled the roost by clinching six medals, including three golds.

Laitika Bhandari, Jarnel Singh and Rudali Barua won a gold each. Saurav and Gangjot clinched a silver medal each in the men's under 63kg and women's 62kg events respectively, while Chaitnya Inamdar bagged a bronze in the men's over 86kg category.Where as, Indian paddlers bagged a gold and silver each in all the three events of men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles.

In an all Indian affair, Harmeet Desai and Anthony Amalraj defeated compatriots Sanil Shetty and Sudhanshu Grover in the men's doubles final to win the gold and in the women's doubles final, Madhurika Patkar and Sreeja Akula beat Sutirtha Mukherjee and Ayhika Mukherjee to clinch the top honours.Harmeet then combined with Sutirtha Mukherjee to down Amalraj and Ayhika to win the gold in mixed doubles event.

The kho kho event was no different as India swept both the gold medals on offer with the men's and women's teams claiming titles after defeating Bangladesh and Nepal respectively.

India crushed the men's team of Bangladesh with an innings and seven points win and a scoreline of 16-9. Moreover, in the women's final, captain Nasreen led from the front as she chased down five points while her team mate Kajal Bhor also made a vital contribution by claiming five more points.The Indian team wrapped up the match 17-5 to finish on top of the podium with an innings and 12 points win.

Indian shuttlers also continued their dominating show with four individuals and as many doubles pairs cruising into the semifinals to assure themselves of medals. Top seed Siril Verma started the day on a winning note for India when he beat Pakistan's Murad Ali in a men's singles quarterfinal match.Siril beat Sri Lanka’s Dinuka Karunaratne in straight sets. However, Aryaman had to fight hard during his  win against second seed Nepal’s Ratnajith TamangWhere as, In the women's singles, 16-year-old Gayathri Gopichand stunned second seed Mahoor Shahzad of Pakistan with a convincing win.

In the men’s doubles semi-final, Krishna Garaga and Dhruv Kapila notched up an easy win over Pakistani pair of Mohommed Atique and Raja Mohommed Hasnin.The Indian pair will now face Sri Lanka’s S Dias Angoda Vidanalage and B Tharindu Dullew, who beat Nepal’s Prince Dahal and P Maharajan in the final.

Joining Gayathri in the semifinals was top seed Ashmita Chaliha, who also thrashed Pakistani opponent, Palwasha Bashir. Indian shuttlers Ashmita Chaliha and Gayatri Gopichand to set up an all-Indian summit clash in the women’s singles category at the 13th South Asian Games in Pokhara on Thursday.While  Ashmita thrashed her Sri Lankan opponent Achini Ratnasiri, Gayatri registered an easy win over Dilmi Dias of Sri Lanka.

Aryaman Tandon was another Indian after Verma to reach the men's singles semifinals after registering win over Sri Lanka's Ranthushka Karunathilake.

The Indian women's doubles pairings of Kuhoo Garg-Anoushka Parikh and Meghana Jakkampudi-S Nelakurthi also progressed to the semifinals after beating their Bangladeshi opponents. But India’s challenge came to an end as Kuhoo Garg and Anoushka Parikh and Meghana Jakkampudi and N Sikki Reddy — lost in the semifinals.While, Garg and Parikh beat Bristi Khatun and Rehana Khatun, Jakkampudi and Nelakurthi notched up victory over Shalpa Akter and Alina Sultana.

In mixed doubles, top seeded Indian pair of Dhruv and Meghana entered the final after beating Nepal’s Bikash Shresta and Anu Maya Rai.

The final matches will take place at Pokhara on Friday.
