Mother Gives Birth To A Child, Teacher Gives Life says Narendra Modi

On the eve of Teachers Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a candid Interaction with students on Friday, giving few tips to the students of the nation to ignite their minds. At the same time, he advised parents not to impose their wishes and choices on their children. PM underscored the need to have good people in politics for the well being on the society and nation.

PM addressed the students through video conference and even replied to back them. Modi announced about his directions to place ‘Aptitude certificates’ instead of ‘Character certificates' when students leave the schools. Aptitude certificates will reflect the student’s personality.

For around 105-minutes, Modi interacted with 60 teachers and 800 students of various schools in Delhi at the Manekshaw auditorium. He patiently responded to a range of questions right from his school days till his dress sense. Through video conference, students belonging to nine other states joined the event.

PM took the occasion to launch two commemorative coins of which one is of Rs 125 denomination and another one is of Rs 10. He said that he interacts with students on Teacher’s day as students are Teacher’s identity.

"Mother gives birth to a child, (guru) teacher gives life (jeevan). There will hardly be anyone in the world who will not admit the role of their mother and teacher in their life." Modi said.

"A teacher can never retire. Being a teacher is not like any other occupation," he said.

Modi who emphasized on the ‘art and culture’ importance in student’s life, said that education should not create robots.

Speaking on politics, PM said, "Unfortunately politics has acquired a lot of bad name. Talented people from all walks of life are required in politics."
