Congress president Sonia Gandhi attacks Prime Minister Narendra Modi by saying that, whenever there is a scandal involving his colleagues, the 'Mann ki Baat' man appears to retreat into a 'Maun Vrat'.

Sonia Gandhi made a scathing attack on Narendra Modi at the forefront of an all-party meeting offered by the government, while addressing a meeting of Congress MPs. Sonia makes it clear that the congress party will not step back to allow the parliament to function, unless the three top BJP leaders resign.

Demanding the resignations

Opposition parties led by the Congress are demanding the resignation of Sushma Swaraj, Foreign Minister, and Vasundhara Raje, Rajasthan Chief Minister, for helping Lalit Modi, the embarrassed cricket boss, and Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, over the Vyapam recruitment scam.

Mrs Gandhi alleged that, "On one hand, he never misses an opportunity to claim moral high ground on transparency, integrity and accountability... On the other, he has been conspicuous by his deafening silence on blatant transgressions by his External Affairs Minister and two of his Chief Ministers."

Key bills for approval

In this session, the government has to seek approval for 11 key bills by presenting in the Parliament. The Goods and Services Tax or GST bill is the most crucial among them.
