Police investigating murder-suicide at Dallas office building

An office murder-suicide forced several workers to evacuate an office building in the 8300 block of the LBJ Freeway Service Road near Schroeder Road on Monday morning.

A ‘Dignity Team Health’ employee found out that management was planning to fire him from the job. The man then walked into a meeting with a gun on the seventh floor and shot his female supervisor, according to police.

“The shots. They were so close. You could hear the shots,” one witness described.

The sound of gunfire sent startled workers running for cover and some barricaded themselves in office until the police arrived.

Pictures from the incident show that one of the windows of the building were shattered from the gunfire.

The Swat team searched all the floors of the building to make sure that there were no other suspects before allowing detectives to begin their investigation.

“SWAT was escorting us out (of the building) and telling us to go downstairs,” said one woman.

“As we were walking out, there was a police officer holding his shield and he was bleeding down his arm,” recalled another woman.

A police officer was injured by ‘debris’ after the officer tried to gain entry through a locked glass door. The officer was transported to a nearby hospital for minor injuries.

Following the evacuation and a search, police declared the office ‘safe’ at 1 p.m.

The names of the suspect or the victim have not been released yet.
