Khoyla and Doctor Rakhmabi will premiere at Dallas/Fort Worth South Asian Film Festival

A Billion Colour Story is a timely film about religious intolerance, will make its Texas premiere at the third annual Dallas/Fort Worth South Asian Film Festival on Friday (3rd March).

The film festival runs till Sunday at the Perot Museum of Nature and Science in Dallas and AMC Village on the Parkway 9 in Addison.

A Billion Colour received standing ovations at its world premiere release at the Busan International Film Festival and several other events. The film is directed by Padmakumar Narasimhamurthy and produced by Satish Kaushik.

"Race and immigration have, unfortunately, become such hot-button issues in our current political climate, and if a schoolboy can navigate through these topics in a film, we certainly hope our governments can attempt to do the same," festival director Jitin Hingorani said in a news release.

Doctor Rakhmabi is among the other films showing at the Dallas/Fort Worth South Asian Film Festival (Selig Polyscope Company)

‘Khoya’ directed by Sami Khan and Rupak Ginn and Doctor Rakhmabai will also be included in the festival. Khoya is a story about India’s first practicing female doctor.

The opening night of the film festival will begin with a cocktail reception at 6 p.m. on Friday at the Perot Museum, 2201 N. Field St.

All-access festival passes are $175. Individual screening tickets range from $15 to $20.
