Dallas Police has fired nine officers in a Dallas suburb for reporting traffic stops they never conducted, Dallas police department announced in a statement.

According to the officials, three officers were resigned before the investigation was finished while, four others are still being investigated by the authorities.

The officers had been suspended in May following a review of officer activity in the field identified several individuals who claimed to have made traffic stops that actually never occurred.

The fired officers can appeal the decision of the department. According to the investigation, no fictitious citations were issued and why the traffic reports were falsified was not indicated.
