A woman was shot in the neck in a Wal-Mart parking lot on Samuell Boulevard in Dallas. A suspect was arrested, police said.

According to Sgt. Warren Mitchell of the Dallas Police Department, two woman met in the parking lot of the Wal-Mart in the 7401 block of Samuell at around 5:30 p.m. to transfer custody of a child.

Officers arrived at the location after responding a call. They found a woman with an apparent gunshot wound to her neck. The victim was rushed to the nearby hospital but her condition was unknown.

The incident is being investigated by the police. It was discovered that the victim was at the Walmart to meet with another woman to transfer the custody of a child. The argument between the both women led to a physical altercation.

Police said, a off-duty Fannin County police officer responded to the parking lot.
