TRS chief takes on Cong over suspension of MPs

After couple of months of silence, TRS chief K Chandrashekara Rao appeared before the media to take on the Congress party on Telangana issue in parliament and the subsequent suspension of Congress MPs.

Stressing that whatever happened in Lok Sabha was unfortunate today, KCR has said that the Congress party will be paying in Telangana region for suspending the Congress MPs from Lok Sabha when they demanded the Centre for fulfilling the promise on separate state. It was undemocratic to suspend MPs instead of sticking to the promises, he added.

Meanwhile, the suspended MPs were sitting in Lok Sabha well and continuously raising slogans in favour of bifurcation even after the adjournment of Lok Sabha to Wednesday.

It may be noted that the deputy speaker suspended eight Congress MPs from Parliament this afternoon. Earlier, the MPs rocked the Lok Sabha with slogans in support of Telangana and even displayed placards. Despite the intervention of the home minister and the minister for parliamentary affairs, the MPs didn’t calm down. Therefore, they were suspended for four days.

The suspension of Telangana MPs is likely to fetch more votes for the Congress in the by-polls to 18 assembly constituencies. (Phani)
