NASA has a plan that could make human history if successful. The Mars One project seeks to colonize the red planet with human beings, and this is how the founders plan to make it work.

The Mars One foundation is taking in applications from people around the world. Costing between $38 and $5 depending on the country's GDP, the application cost considers those from even unknown corners of the world looking to permanently shift to Mars.

It is a 6 billion dollar project that will document selected astronauts while they prepare for and are deployed to colonize Mars. Already over one lakh people have applied for the one-way trip. Mars One project will begin in the year 2022, when humans will travel nearly 8 months to cover a 56 million kilometers distance. The craft carrying human colonizers will land on the planet in April 2023.

Initially 4 people, two males and two females, will be sent across. These participants will be chosen from among the 40 shortlisted this year. Major risks to the chosen humans include muscle loss and poor blood circulation from lack of gravity and exposure to high radiation levels. Psychosis is also a major concern.

From what we know, Mars has extremely harsh living conditions and no one has yet found life on the planet.
