As the deadline for retaining players in the Indian Premier League 2026 approaches, all teams are busy finalizing their player lists. The deadline to submit the names of players who will stay and those who will be let go is November 15. Recently, there has been a lot of talk about a potential trade involving Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran from the Chennai Super Kings and Sanju Samson from the Rajasthan Royals. Many reports have indicated that discussions are happening. In the midst of these trade rumors, a new update has come from the Mumbai Indians stating that Arjun Tendulkar might be leaving the team. According to a report from Cricbuzz, MI and Lucknow Super Giants are in negotiations for two players: Arjun and Shardul Thakur. It was mentioned that this might not be a direct swap, but rather separate agreements, meaning the teams would pay cash to get the players.

Arjun Tendulkar made his IPL debut in 2023 and has played five matches for the Mumbai Indians, taking just three wickets. However, during the IPL 2025 mega auction, he was brought back by the five-time champions at his base price of Rs 30 lakhs. Regarding Shardul, he was not selected in the IPL 2025 auction but was added to the LSG team as a substitute for the injured left-arm fast bowler Mohsin Khan. Earlier this year, Shardul expressed his feelings about not being chosen by any team during the mega auction. He said, "I think these things happen in cricket. It was a tough day for me during the auction since I wasn't picked by any team. LSG was the first to reach out to me because of their bowlers being injured, so it was somewhat expected. I had to accept it with Zaheer Khan present. You go through ups and downs in cricket."

The all-rounder played ten matches for LSG in IPL 2025. Although he did not have any impressive performances with the bat, he managed to take 13 wickets.
