Russian President Vladimir Putin's guards are said to have brought a "poop suitcase" to gather his waste during a meeting in Alaska with US President Donald Trump, as mentioned by The Express US. This strange safety measure was reportedly intended to stop other countries from learning about the Russian leader's health. The Express US noted that, when Putin travels outside Russia, his guards collect his waste and take it back home with them. During his meeting, tight security was around Putin. He had numerous bodyguards, and various precautions were taken to ensure his safety and the secrecy of Russian intelligence. According to investigative journalists Regis Gente and Mikhail Rubin from the French magazine Paris Match, members of the Russian President's Federal Protection Service gather his waste, including feces, store it in special bags, and transport it in specific briefcases.
This practice has reportedly been in place for several years, including during Putin's trip to France in May 2017, as stated by The Express US. It is believed that this unexpected safety tactic is used to prevent foreign entities from obtaining samples of Putin's waste that could provide insights into his health. Journalist Farida Rustamova also noted that these precautions were present during Putin's visit to Vienna, where he utilized a portable toilet. The Express US reported that a source indicated this routine began when Putin took office in 1999. These revelations come amidst ongoing worries about the 72-year-old president's health. Concerns have been raised over time after Putin appeared to jerk his legs during a press event in Astana, Kazakhstan, last November. Dr. Bob Berookhim suggested it could possibly be a neurological issue like Parkinson's disease, according to The Express US.
Putin was also observed twitching in his chair during a meeting with Belarusian President Alexandr Lukashenko in 2023. In 2022, the Kremlin acted quickly to dispel rumors from the General SVR Telegram channel that claimed Putin had soiled himself after a fall, as reported by The Express US.
