8 People Killed in Shooting At Dallas Cowboys Watch Party In Plano

A man shot and killed eight people who gathered to watch a Dallas Cowboys Football game on TV at Dallas area home.

A police was called to the scene immediately on Sunday killed the gunman there. The gunman was Spencer James Hight, according to the Plano police department.

One of the victims in Shooting Incident Meredith Hight 27, was the estranged wife of the gunman. At a news conference on Monday, Plano Police Chief Greg Rushin said that the gunman had connection with the house.

The other victims in the incident were identified as Anthony Cross (33), Olivia Deffner(24), James Dunlop (29), Darryl Hawkins (22), Rion Morgan (31), Myah Bass (28) and Caleb Edwards (25), said police in a news release.

"We've never had a shooting of this magnitude. We've never seen this many victims before. It's just a terrible event," Rushin said.

Several calls came reporting gunshots in Plano Police dispatch around 8 p.m Sunday. An officer nearby approached the scene two minutes later and heard gunfire and found Victims in the backyard.

The officer showed great bravery immediately engaging the shooter and shooting him. Seven were pronounced dead at the scene and other two were hospitalized but one of the patients died, the status is still unknown of surviving victim.

Several types of Firearms were recovered from scene and the shooter was also seen with a gun at a bar near the residence before the shooting, Police have no further suspects.

The Investigation is still ongoing. Texas Rangers are handling police involved shooting investigation.
