Six Carter HS students awarded full-ride TCU scholarships

Six senior students from  Carter High School in Dallas have been awarded with the full-ride TCU Community Scholarships at a ceremony on Thursday.  The  academic scholarships  each valued at more than $250,000 will cover their all expenses to Texas Christian University.  Trustee Joyce Foreman was also present in the event.

Principal Fred Davis told the scholarship recipients, that, “This is one of the opportunities that you do not get but once in a lifetime.” “And we know you will make the best of it and it will impact you for the rest of your lives.”

The six recipient of the scholarship are, Charity Mason, Reginald Cole, Michael Scott, Evelyn Barron, Tavon Griffin and Courtnee Avery.

Charity Mason, one among the six scholarship recipient, said that,  “It was kind of a big step in my life to help me grow up, manage time and just be able to focus without it all being overwhelming.”  Mason moved in with Carter High School teacher, Lara Cardinale, when her mom died four months back.
