As there was no live audience for the show like before, the audience poll has been removed from the show.

This has been replaced by ‘video a friend’. The first contestant on KBC 12 was Aarti Jagtap.

She was put before a question on Sushant Singh Rajput’s last release Dil Bechara and the question was about the actress who featured opposite Sushant Singh Rajput in the film.

Aarti knew that it was Sanjana Sanghi and hence did not use any kind of lifeline for the question.

She ended her game by winning 6.4 lakh from the hands of Amitabh Bachchan.

Amitabh, aged 77, started filming for KBC in August after he recovered from COVID-19. To adapt to the social distancing and other norms decided by the government the show has undergone several changes.

The design of the hot seat and the contestant’s chair has also been changed to allow more space in between.

Contestants will have to undergo a COVID-19 test before they leave for Mumbai and the report would be in the hands of the KBC authorities by the time the contestants reach the set.

After arrival to Mumbai, the contestants have to undergo another round of COVID-19 after which they would be allowed to enter the set.
